EVENT CANCELLATION
Dear all,
It is with the deepest regret that we announce the cancellation of the upcoming Swedish Invasion. Over the last month we have seen a high number of bands withdraw from the event for various reasons. We fully understand and accept the reasons given and there are no hard feelings towards those bands who feel that they are unable to travel to the UK to perform in the current circumstances. We are also acutely aware that the situation in Europe continues to worsen, with unpredictability still rife, having seen what has happened to our friends at Eindhoven Metal Meeting. If we were placed in the same position early next year it would be devastating for us. Naturally we explored the possibility of postponing yet again, but unfortunately there are many reasons of viability and indeed personal circumstance that make this an infeasible option. That has led us to the decision to cancel.
That said, the cancellation in and of itself is not without consequence. We are currently in the process of recovering what expenses, deposits etc. we can and trying to minimise losses, but there is a significant shortfall that we will have to take on the chin and fund from our own pockets. As with all cancellations, tickets will be refunded. If, however, there is anyone who wishes to waive their refund in order to help minimise the financial hit we have to take that would be immensely appreciated (though is far from expected). Otherwise, we will execute the automatic refunds over the coming weeks.
We are so sorry that the event cannot go ahead for all of us that were looking forward to it (ourselves included). It will take time to process this and move on, and we will focus on licking our wounds and trying to assess whether or not a future is possible.
