Die Detroit-Thrasher BATTLECROSS werden nächsten Monat das Studio entern und den Nachfolger zu ihrem 2011er Metal Blade-Debüt Pursuit of Honor einzuholzen, das an der Spitze der Sirius XM Liquid Metal Charts stand, großartige Kritiken bekam und der Band fette Touren besorgte, u.a. die Trespass America Festival Tour mit Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage und Trivium im letzten Sommer. Die Aufnahmen beginnen direkt im Anschluss an die ‘Another Year, Another Tour’, welche die Band gerade an der Seite von In Flames, Demon Hunter und All Shall Perish für 27 Dates durch Nordamerika führt.BATTLECROSS haben Mark Lewis und seine Crew in den Audiohammer Studios in Florida auserkoren, um mit ihnen ihr zweites Album einzuspielen, das im Sommer 2013 erscheinen soll. Lewis, der schon mit The Black Dahlia Murder, Trivium, Devil Driver und Deicide zusammengerabeitet hat, freut sich: “I can’t wait to be a part of Battlecross‘ next record. From the moment I heard the band I knew I wanted to be a part of their development. Hearing the new music has only solidified that feeling. Working with our good friends at Metal Blade and bringing great new music to the masses is what it’s all about.”
Eyal Levy steht als Engineer zur Verfügung, während Armored Saints Joey Vera, der schon die Coverversion von Pantera’s Fucking Hostile masterte, für das Mastering gewonnen werden konnte.
Gitarrist Hiran Deraniyagala: “We are stoked to be working with a prolific studio and producer at Audiohammer. We’re so focused on making a killer follow up album and we feel that Mark Lewis will help bring our raw, live sound to life.”

Außerdem kündigte Festivalveranstalter Scott Lee kürzlich an, dass BATTLECROSS bei der 15. Auflage des New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in Worcester auftreten werden. Sie treten dort zum ersten Mal auf und teilen sich die Bühne mit Größen wie Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, Opeth und vielen anderen.
